MEAM presents the eighth edition of MEAM Hall, the international small-format group exhibition that has established itself, edition after edition, as one of the most distinctive events on the contemporary figurative and realist art scene.
Following a rigorous selection process among the entries received from artists around the world, the show brings together a wide and diverse body of work created in a format as compact as it is demanding: 20 x 20 cm. This scale limitation does not curb artistic ambition — rather, it puts it to the test: each piece must condense, within a minimal space, its own distinct intention, technique and vision. The result is a lively, choral exhibition journey, in which very different styles, traditions and sensibilities coexist on equal footing and enter into dialogue with one another, offering visitors an honest snapshot of the current state of figurative painting and drawing.
Alongside the small-format works, this edition once again includes a special selection of larger-format pieces (up to 100 x 100 cm), to be displayed on the third floor of the Palau Gomis, expanding the show's visual dialogue and giving selected participating artists an additional exhibition space.
Two venues, one journey
This year, MEAM Hall is presented in two cities, before two different audiences:
- Barcelona — from 10 July to 1 November 2026, at MEAM (Palau Gomis). Opening on Friday, 10 July, with the presentation of certificates to participating artists. The large-format selection can be viewed until 27 September.
- Madrid — from 12 to 29 November 2026, at La Zona Gallery. Opening on Thursday, 12 November.
In this way, every selected work becomes part of a genuine exhibition itinerary spanning two cities, strengthening the international reach of the artists featured in this edition.
MEAM Hall thus reaffirms its role as a leading platform for contemporary figurative art, building bridges between creators from widely diverse backgrounds and placing their work within the exhibition circuit of MEAM and the Foundation for the Arts and Artists.
