The Wagner Club and the Foundation of Arts and Artists, with the collaboration of the Gran Teatro del Liceu and the support of Katharina Wagner, held an international painting contest, centered on the theme of the opera by Richard Wagner 'Lohengrin'. The jury's decision, reunited last February, includes four ex aequo winners:
- DeAngel, for his work 'The spell of Ostrud and Elsa's dream'
- Juan Gil, for his work 'Thought for the study of a square'
- Carlos Saura, for his work 'Lohengrin'
- Mikel Olazábal, for his work 'Lohengrin and Elsa'
The Winners will be exhibited in March at the Grand Theater of Liceu, on the occasion of the worldwide inauguration of the new production of Lohengrin, directed by Katharina Wagner. In May, the selected and preselected works will be exhibited in MEAM. The winners will be exhibited in the central lobby of the Wahnfried House, Bayreuth, during the Summer Festival 2020. The same exhibition will be held later in the Central Hall of the Leipzig Opera House.
