Celestrío – “Feeling stories” – Sant Jordi special concert. Concert and talk.
Stories are possible because people read the book, and music is possible thanks to the people who listen to it.
About the concert
In this concert, the performers themselves will speak about the works presented in order to bring us closer to this chamber music evening. The trio by Antonín Dvorák is one of the most celebrated chamber works by the Czech composer. Based on the dumka (a Ukrainian term referring to a reflective folk ballad), the composer develops a distinctive musical language that we will explore through both explanation and listening.
A similar case can be found in the music of the Spanish composer Joaquín Turina, who, inspired by Spanish folklore, created his own unique musical language.
The unique life of each composer inspires their sonic worlds, and it is there that their stories are born. Their legacy is music, just as writers leave behind their books.
On the special occasion of Sant Jordi, Diana Tashika and Iratxe Ibaibarriaga will also share some of their music and their stories as young composers.
Diana Tashika (Violin)
Classical violinist and multidisciplinary musician from Uzbekistan, based in Barcelona, whose work fuses classical tradition with contemporary sound, weaving together neoclassical, electronic and cinematic textures. She studied violin performance at a university in Moscow (2021) and later continued her education in Barcelona at ESMUC, where she studied Music Management and Production (2025) and Composition and Technology (2026).
As a violinist, she has performed internationally with the Moscow Youth Chamber Orchestra, touring and appearing at festivals across Italy, Denmark, France, Malta, Germany, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. As a composer, she creates instrumental and vocal works across diverse musical styles, exploring emotional landscapes and contemporary soundscapes.
Beyond the stage, Diana Tashika is also active as a music educator, concert organizer and music influencer, and has appeared in an Italian television documentary dedicated to women in the music industry.
Iratxe Ibaibarriaga (Cello)
The Basque classical cellist and composer Iratxe Ibaibarriaga, based in Barcelona, has developed a distinguished international career with a particularly strong presence in the field of chamber music. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, COSCYL, and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and her career as a performer has led her to appear at numerous international and national festivals.
In parallel, she has developed her own voice as a composer within the modern classical sphere, creating deeply expressive works with modern and new age influences. Throughout her career she has received several distinctions, including the Belgian Artist in Society Award (2020), the Flanders Traineeship Grant (2021), and being selected as a finalist for the Spanish We:Now grant (2024), as well as receiving the Artistic Excellence Grant from the Basque Government on several occasions.
Aydan Abbasova (Piano)
A classical pianist from Baku, based in Barcelona, graduated from the Baku Music Academy, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Piano Performance. She later continued her studies at ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya), first in Music Management and currently in the Master’s program in Music Research (Musicology).
As a pianist, Aydan performs in a variety of ensembles and interdisciplinary projects that bring together artists and musicians from different countries and cultural backgrounds. She is particularly interested in performing music by Spanish and Catalan composers. For example, she participated in the 90th anniversary celebration of a Barcelona library, performing with a singer and presenting works by Eduard Toldrà and Frederic Mompou.
As a musicologist, she has been involved in research and cultural projects in collaboration with the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC), L’Auditori, and the Biblioteca de Fons Antic at the University of Barcelona. Aydan also participates in artistic projects connected with theatre and interdisciplinary performance.
