Beyond its spectacular collection of contemporary figurative painting, the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) organizes a wide variety of activities and initiatives. One of these is the classical music cycle that takes place every Saturday afternoon.

This time we will feature the artists:

Trio Oxes. Claudio Ordoñez, violin. Xabier Ruiz, piano. Eduard Marias, cello.

WORKS BY: Mendelssohn, Turina, Schubert, Bragato

    PROGRAM:

    FIRST PART:

    • Piano Trio No. 1 in B-flat Major, D. 898 - II. Andante un poco mosso (approx. 9–10 min) - F. Schubert

    • Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49 (approx. 17 min) - F. Mendelssohn

    SECOND PART:

    • Trio No. 2 in B minor, Op. 76 (approx. 15–17 min) - J. Turina

    • “Chacarera” - J. Bragato (approx. 6’)

    DESCRIPTION:
This concert is oriented towards strong emotions, contrast and character, pure romanticism. The first part, with Schubert and Mendelssohn, lets us hear two of the greatest composers of the 18th century, already fully romanticized yet rooted in an era of harmony and perfection. The second part carries that romanticism forward, interpreted through composers more representative of our time and culture: Turina, from Seville, and José Bragato, from Argentina.
