AWEN DUET | Sunday Sounds
Beyond its spectacular collection of contemporary figurative painting, the MEAM programs a large number of activities and initiatives.
We invite the public to immerse themselves in a unique sound journey, where, as usual at the MEAM, music intertwines with art and history.Every two Sundays, from April to June, at 6:00 pm, the museum will open its doors to offer a complete cultural experience, where the public can enjoy an exclusive concert and explore our exhibitions. This initiative seeks to bring live music to all audiences, promoting artistic diversity in a unique environment.
This cycle is conceived as a journey through different musical traditions, representing the sounds that have defined cultures and eras. Each concert will be a window to a different sound universe, connecting the music with the historical and artistic context of the museum. The proposal is to celebrate the richness of musical styles and their ability to evoke emotions and stories from different times and places.
On this occasion we will have the following artists:
- AWEN DUET – duet voice and arp.
STYLE: INDIE
DESCRIPTION:
Awen was born in 2020. After some shared musical experiences and motivated by the desire to continue working together, we decided to launch this project.
Awen is a Welsh word meaning inspiration. It is normally used to refer to poetry and lyric poetry, and this is precisely what we are looking for: to inspire the audience that watches and listens to us.
Through a modern repertoire we flee from the conventions of conservatories and music schools. Both members have studied musical theater and we do not understand music as a cold art, but for us, the emotion is as important as the good execution of the instrument. Through habaneras, tangos, ballads and boleros, Awen will transport the audience to a nostalgic world full of sensitivity. Works of different styles and authors from all over the world will envelop us and make us dream.IG: awen.duet
