    Tickets Personalize your visit

Beyond its spectacular collection of contemporary figurative painting, the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) organizes a wide range of activities and initiatives. One of these is the classical music series held every Saturday afternoon.

On this occasion, we will feature the artists:

David Fonseca-Bibescu, violin; María Alonso-Allende, piano
WORKS BY: Ludwig van Beethoven, Olivier Messiaen, Georges Bizet...

    PROGRAM:

From the Storm to the Splendor: Beethoven, Messiaen & Waxman

    Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827)
Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 7 in C minor, Op. 30 No. 2
    I. Allegro con brio
    II. Adagio cantabile
    III. Scherzo: Allegro
    IV. Finale: Allegro

    Olivier Messiaen (1908–1992)
    Thème et Variations

    Franz Waxman (1906–1967)

A program that spans three centuries of music, from the classical drama of Beethoven’s Sonata No. 7 in C minor, through the contemporary spirituality of Messiaen’s Thème et Variations, to the passionate and virtuosic Carmen Fantasy by Waxman, inspired by Bizet’s opera.
