Beyond its spectacular collection of contemporary figurative painting, the MEAM offers a wide range of activities and initiatives.
We invite the public to immerse themselves in a unique sound journey where, as is customary at MEAM, music intertwines with art and history.
On some Sundays at 18:00, the museum will open its doors to offer a complete cultural experience, where the audience can enjoy an exclusive concert and explore our exhibitions. This initiative aims to bring live music to all audiences, promoting artistic diversity in a unique setting.
This series is designed as a journey through different musical traditions, representing the sounds that have defined cultures and eras. Each concert will be a window into a different sonic universe, connecting music with the historical and artistic context of the museum. The proposal celebrates the richness of musical styles and their capacity to evoke emotions and stories from different times and places.
Beyond its spectacular collection of contemporary figurative painting, the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) offers a wide range of activities and initiatives.
On this occasion, we will feature the artists:
- Sandra Rehder, voice.
- Anne-Sophie Vallvé, piano.
STYLE: Tangos, boleros, coplas
DESCRIPTION:Sandra Rehder and Anne-Sophie Vallvé come together in a repertoire of tangos, boleros, coplas and songs that resonate in two languages, in two currents of water.
Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, from Argentina and Catalonia respectively, return with the duo that sold out their debut concert at the MEAM.
A voice born from tango, from words that burn and sing; hands shaped by classical and early music, dressing the arrangements with care and delicate detail.
From this encounter between origins and aesthetics emerges an intimate and powerful proposal.
Works and poems by Federico García Lorca, Albert Guinovart, María Elena Walsh, Carlos Gardel, Maurice Ravel, Jorge Luis Borges, Joan Margarit, Lluís Llach, Astor Piazzolla, Cristina Peri Rossi, among others.
Voices that have sung life, struggle, love and memory.
