Earth & Wind Songs | Sunday Sounds
Beyond its spectacular collection of contemporary figurative painting, the MEAM programs a large number of activities and initiatives.
We invite the public to immerse themselves in a unique sound journey, where, as usual at the MEAM, music intertwines with art and history.Every two Sundays, from April to June, at 6:00 pm, the museum will open its doors to offer a complete cultural experience, where the public can enjoy an exclusive concert and explore our exhibitions. This initiative seeks to bring live music to all audiences, promoting artistic diversity in a unique environment.
This cycle is conceived as a journey through different musical traditions, representing the sounds that have defined cultures and eras. Each concert will be a window to a different sound universe, connecting the music with the historical and artistic context of the museum. The proposal is to celebrate the richness of musical styles and their ability to evoke emotions and stories from different times and places.
On this occasion we will have the artists:
- Sandra Rehder, voice.
- Anne-Sophie Vallv, piano
STYLE: Tango, Bolero and Copla
DESCRIPTION:
The voice and piano come together like opening a book full of paths. Sandra Rehder and Anne-Sophie Vallvé unite in a repertoire of tangos, coplas, and boleros that resonate in two languages, in two waters.
Songs that carry the dust of the streets and the whisper of distant winds. From Gardel to Serrat, from Lorca to María Elena Walsh, music and poetry transcend time, between the earth that sustains and the wind that carries memory.
This concert takes place at the MEAM, a space where painting and sound observe and complement each other.
Argentine singer, poet, and producer Sandra Rehder is one of the leading tango figures in Barcelona, where she has lived since 2001. Her deep and expressive voice embodies both the strength and sensitivity of this genre, offering a performance that respects the roots of tango while bringing it into the present for new generations. She has performed on prestigious stages such as L'Auditori de Barcelona, international tango festivals in Granada and Finland, as well as the Club Atlético Fernández Fierro in Buenos Aires.
Anne-Sophie Vallvé, a Barcelona-born pianist, masterfully blends ancient and contemporary music. Trained at the Conservatori del Liceu and specialized in the harpsichord, she is beginning her Master’s in Early Music at ESMUC this year. With impeccable technique and a unique artistic sensitivity, she enriches the musical dialogue with her contributions.
This duo promises an unforgettable evening at the MEAM, where contemporary figurative art merges with the timeless melodies of tango and other genres that evoke landscapes of shared emotions. An unmissable event for music and art lovers.
