Alan Pardo & Cristian 'Poyo' Moya | Friday Blues

Alan Pardo was born in 1979 into a family of avid fans of the rock music of that era, and by the age of 18, he realized that music would be a part of his life and that this was irreversible. Thanks to his first teacher, he was introduced to one of the genres that has most shaped his style as a guitarist: the blues. From that moment on, he came to the conclusion that the most important element of the blues—and of music in general—is feeling, and that technique and theory are merely tools for expressing that inner essence. That is why he considers himself, above all, a guitarist of feeling. He currently boasts an extensive career, combining his work as a blues guitarist with that of a composer.

For his part, Cristian “Poyo” Moya is a pianist born in Rosario, Argentina, who has been based in Barcelona since 2006. Coming from a family of musicians and with a career spanning more than 20 years, he has accompanied national and international Blues figures such as Corey Harris (USA), Bob Margolin (USA), Tail Dragger (USA), Patrick Hazel (USA), and Dave Riley (USA). His influences include artists of the stature of Otis Spann, Roosevelt Skyes, Leroy Carr, Johnnie Johnson, Mead Lux Lewis, Albert Ammons, Jerry Lee Lewis, Blind John Davis, Dr. John, Charles Brown, Jay McShann, Oscar Peterson, and Ray Charles, among others. His repertoire ranges from old-time blues to country blues, Chicago blues, boogie-woogie, gospel, and ragtime, all the way to early jazz, swing, and jazz, which he performs with refined technique, exuding elegance and virtuosity in every performance.

Two great musicians and instrumentalists who share an extraordinary rapport are coming together for an exclusive concert at the MEAM.
