Contemporary Japanese Realism

Workshop with the Japanese painter Osamu Obi

The workshop will be held on September 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at the museum. For this you will need a 70 x 60 cm canvas, having made the primer before attending the course. You should also bring your usual paint materials such as paintbrushes, colors, palette, easel, etc.

The price of the course is € 10. If you are interested in attending please confirm it to the email or call 933195693.

Born in Kanagawa prefecture in 1965, Obi’s careful attention to composition earned renown while he was still a
student at Musashino Art University. Following the receipt of various art awards, he studied in Paris on an Agency for Cultural Affairs artist overseas study scholarship from 2010 to 2012. After making copies of Rembrandt and other artists at the Louvre, his work advanced to a boldly stroked style that maximizes oil painting’s particular characteristics. He continues to create paintings composed of oft-overlooked scenes and spaces.
