From romanticism to the 20th century | Tardes de Música Clàssica

Beyond its spectacular collection of contemporary figurative painting, the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) programs a large number of activities and initiatives. One of them is the cycle of classical music that is scheduled every Saturday afternoon.

On this occasion we will have the artist: Fedor Veselov, piano solo.

WORKS BY: F. Chopin, S. Rachmaninov

    Frédéric Chopin - 12 Studies op.10

Sergey. Rachmaninoff Sonata - No. 2, Op. 18, 2nd redaction

At the end of the XVIII century, a new artistic movement errupted in Europe looking to confront and break with the rules established by the industrial revolution and the years of the age of enlightenment. This new musical movement had nature as its main inspiration, trying to create music that was emotional, dramatic and individualistic. We are talking about Romanticism.

Fedor Veselov will take us to explore the romanticism of the XIX century through the performance of two pieces by two emblematic romantic composers: Frédéric Chopin and Sergei Rachmaninov, whose musical careers cover the whole of the XIX century.
