Friday, November 22, 6:00 p.m.: VIII Fridays Blues & Boogie-Woogie Piano Meeting with:
    AUGUST THARRATS & CRISTIAN MOYA
August Tharrats, piano. Cristian Moya piano, voice

Without a doubt, August Tharrats is the pioneer of Blues and Boogie Woogie piano in Catalonia. At age of 4 he discovered the Blues listening to Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, Lionel Hampton ... He is totally self-taught and that has meant that this music has approached with humility, creating a very personal language. Perhaps for this reason musicians like Teddy Edwards, Gene "Mighty Flea" Connors or B.B. King have congratulated him on his way of playing the blues. Admirer of Kansas City school pianists such as Jay McShann, he is currently a prestigious bluesman on the national scene for his acting quality and honesty on stage. Musician capable of captivating viewers with a personal style full of blues, boogie-woogie and swing with a huge capacity for communication.

Born in Rosario, Argentina, of musician parents, Cristian Moya began studying piano as a child, studying the classical piano career at the Rosario National School of Music and finishing the modern piano at L'Aula del Liceu in Barcelona.

He has accompanied on several tours Andy Moss, one of the singers of the legendary American band "The Platters" and several American bluesmen such as Patrick Hazell (Iowa) or Bob Margolin (guitarist of Muddy Waters) - In 2015 he toured throughout Spain together with the Spanish-Argentine band "Tota Blues Band" based in Barcelona of which he is a stable pianist.

He has taught piano blues and boogie-woogie classes, performing at the Blues School in Madrid with José Luis Pardo, renowned Argentine guitarist based in the capital and founder of the school.

He currently performs concerts in Catalonia, Spain and the rest of Europe with Tota Blues Band, Carlos Shelly's Rhythm & Blues Band, Exilio New Tango and The Rocking Stones (tribute band to The Rolling Stones).
