Friday's Blues & MYRIAM SWANSON & AMADEU CASAS
Friday 12th July, 18,00 h. Tribute to the savage women of blues with:
MYRIAM SWANSON & AMADEU CASAS
Myriam Swanson, voice. Amadeu Casas, guitar, dobro and voice
The first recorded blues was a female blues. It was a unique era of sexual liberation, in which savage women were no longer in pain because they had suffered all they could bear, representations of a full life and personal independence appear in tabernaire songs, but also in those discs that collect the complete repertoires of tours throughout the country or traveling shows where, on each corner, the juke joints and the honky-tonks were totally overcrowded with people wanting to party.
With this idea we have chosen a repertoire that excites us and that, if you want, we will present you in this concert. A concert that will be more than ever an encounter with all of you in which, together with the spirit of women like Bessie Smith, Ma Raney, Billie Holiday, Victoria Spivey, Ida Cox, Clara Smith, Trixie Smith or Memphis Minnie among others, we will talk about blues and those rebellious women.
