Friday September 21st 6,00 PM: Bluegrass with:

Lluís Gómez, Banjo. Joan Pau Cumellas, Harmonica. Miguel Talavera, Guitar. Maribel Rivero, Double bass.

Bluegrass is a style of music that, although mainly made up of simple melodies, leaves room for improvisation, which the Barcelona Bluegrass Band takes advantage of in paying tribute to "Old time music", taking a broad and modern approach in their compositions.

This group, unprecedented in our country, is inspired by the music typical of the Appalachian Mountains (USA), and shows its great versatility by integrating elements of different styles such as Blues, Jazz and Irish music.

The band provides a contemporary twist to the use of the Banjo, a fairly uncommon instrument in our country, and is also one of the few musical arrangements of this style in the world that includes the Harmonica as one of the most highlighted instruments.

This differential quality has sparked the interest of many lovers of this style of music, as well as, since 2009, festivals and musical events in our country and in others such as Ireland, England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic and the United States.

Following the international success of their albums 'Barcelona Bluegrass Band' and 'Old Time Blues', with the participation of legends like Alison Brown, Tony Trischka and Tim Carter, they now introduce their new album 'Set list', a work that raises the bar for this quartet and faithfully reproduces the energy of its live performances.
