Friday's Blues & AUGUST THARRATS & MIRIAM APARICIO

    Friday 24 November, 18, 00 h: VI Fridays Blues & Boogie-Woogie Piano Meeting with:

    AUGUST THARRATS & MIRIAM APARICIO

August Tharrats, piano. Miriam Aparicio, piano, voice.

Without a doubt August Tharrats is the pioneer of Blues and Boogie Woogie piano in Catalonia. At the age of 4 he discovers the Blues listening to Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong, and Lionel Hampton ... He is totally self-taught meaning that his music has been approached with humility creating a very personal language. Perhaps for this reason musicians like Teddy Edwards, Gene "Mighty Flea" Connors or B.B.King have congratulated him for his way of playing the blues. A fan of pianists from the Kansas City School as Jay McShann, he is currently a prestigious bluesman on the national scene for his acting and honesty on stage. A Musician being able to captivate viewers with a personal style full of blues, boogie woogie and swing with a huge capacity for communication.

Barcelona’s classical pianist, Miriam Aparicio is seduced by African-American music with roots. Her first steps in the piano blues world were supervised by the pianists Lluís Coloma and Julio Lobos. Years later she became a pianist, singer and director of her own group of gospel masoulfield, through which famous names from the music scene passed. Currently she is the pianist of Tota Blues Band with whom she has participated in diverse festivals like the one of Hondarribia and recently also has become the pianist of Big Mama, with whom performs in acoustic format a repertoire review of the great divas of the blues.
